StarTech- I drive mine up a ramp, to do underneath clean. Once at top of ramp I put the brake on, for safety.. But have not had any issues like this from OP. Mine are HG-2800, externally same as HG-3100 I believe,..

Ray- That is just if you see lots of debris between the cylinder fins. It's a very effective tool, imo. I never use water, just compressed air.

How long did you run it with valve lash TOO tight ? Hope it's not a burnt valve.

That's it, one part can be used for curved shaft & straight, by just flipping the inner part.

I use a clothes dryer vent brush w/flexable shaft to handle (see image) to push down between each of the cylinder fins (I remove blower housing for this end of each mow season

That is definitely TOO tight. That online spec is NOT correct. I spoke to a Kawasaki Tech on my previous Kaw engine about this specifically ... True spec is .004 - .006. Re-adjust to intakes @ .004 or .005 & Exhausts @ .005 or .006

Might wanna test out a Toro w/ "MyRide" technology. That has settings to float the operator.

Here in Deep South we run 20w-50 K-tech oil (under warranty) your area may differ.

Also you can test your non-ethanol gas.

Here in deep South my Scag Dealer (after Kawasaki update) said to use only 20w-50. So I do. & my former 2014 Kawasaki manual DID list an early 8 hour oil change. Now my 2021 Kawasaki manual does not. But I did it anyhow. My thing is building Harley engines. So I know it's best to do early...

Go for it.. The oil threads do tend to have extremes in different directions. It is certainly better oil, imo. but is it worth the extra $$, your decision..
