Toro Timecutter 75742 engine stopped in the middle of mowing. Won't start again

Check and see if you are getting power to the fuel solenoid if you are good and also remove the fuel solenoid from the carb energize it and see if the stem pulls down if it does good but if the fuel solenoid windings are going bad it could function initially but cut off after a few minutes.
 
Apply some (not too much) pressure to the fuel tank with the hose from the pump to carb in a bucket. If you now have fuel it proves either the filter is plugged or the pump is bad. If no fuel removed the line at the fuel filter and put in a bucket and recheck.If you only have air or frothy gas you may have the suction line in the tank broken or disconnected. If the line is broken you will get no fuel and will need to repair it first
 
It turned out to be a cracked diaphragm inside the fuel pump. This is what happened: I removed the fuel line from carburetor, crank it, no fuel. Removed the fuel pump, and put my finger over the pulsing tube and crank it, I can feel that pulsing suction so that's normal. I tried to suck that pulsing port on the fuel pump -- should have blow it first but I forgot, and got a mouthful of fuel which taste really really bad. I immediately realized that is the problem -- if a good diaphragm won't allow you to suck, you should feel the resistance. And there shouldn't be any fuel through the pulsing port at all. Obviously the diaphragm cracked.

Replaced with the one bought from Amazon, replaced the fuel filter, and crank it, it didn't run but I do see fuels coming into the filter, which is a good sign. Sprayed a few puffs of carburetor cleaner to the air intake, and crank again, voila~
