This was a lightly used scrapped tractor with 179 hours on the clock I bought for $25. The front had been hit breaking the hood. It’s been five years trying to level the blades on this deck. First yes, tire pressures are filled to spec and tractor is on level ground. The blades are not bent. They are however new mulching blades but for now the mulch plate is removed.
It took two years to find the deck was bent under one spindle. I removed the spindle, hammered the deck level and installed a spindle/deck reinforcement plate on that side.
The left and right rear deck hangers are both facing the same direction and I purchased an Oregon blade height measuring tool.
My back yard is somewhat irregular and some side scalping is to be expected but even on level front lawns it is slightly noticeable.
At first, when using the Oregon blade gauge I had the deck raised to the next to the last height position making it easier to reach the blade, turn to the outer side and position the gauge under the blade.
The solution: This time I lowered the deck as far as possible without letting the training wheels touch the ground. Used the gauge to level the deck and this time it is finally cutting even.
