My FH580V has 1,418 hours and is 19 years old. It starts and runs great with zero oil usage or smoking. Just to satisfy my curiosity, I checked the compression too and got 125 and 126 psi so I would say you have a healthy engine.

I don't know if you're replying to OP or me but I will check coils. I checked with an open gap spark tester but not under load. I will pull the top cover as suggested and disconnected the kill wires and retest. THANKS!

You got some bad info. 64psi is about 1/2 of normal. 120ish is ideal, 100 or higher would be expected to run properly.
Replaced both coils with known good used ones. Same exact result. Runs fine without PTP on, bogs horribly when cutting grass. Using adjustable spark tester the spark is VERY blue at first. As engine warms up I start to see some orange appearing in the otherwise blue spark on both cyls. More so with deck running. No noticeable change in sound with deck on and no obvious appearance of power loss when deck on but NOT mowing. I know used coils are not ideal but I would think unlikely to produce exact same symptoms as the originals. Could the stator be failing? After completely warm there does seem to be a slight sound of a miss. No vibration, no surging, just a very slight sound of a miss.

The fuel can spout reference is suggesting contaminated fuel, clogging fuel system somewhere from tank to carb. It's always worth checking for free flow to carb or fuel pump, and checking operation of the float valve if so equipped. Pulling the bowl lets you see if there's crud in the bowl. I had a mower yesterday with a hung up check valve in the fuel pickup in one tank. The motor ran ok, but mowing it seemed a bit down on power, then it died. I checked fuel flow, which led me to the check valve. Removed it, cleaned it, and all is good.
Is that the max distance the spark jumped? If so the coil is near dead.
IF you have a resistor plug then your available spark is even less to the plug gap.
Are you serious? Do I need to elaborate further on a proper fuel can spout/nozzle?
Since you asked. The right nozzle or spout is WIDE OPEN. Can and will let water, humidity, bugs, grass, leaves and other debris in where they do NOT belong. Every time you fill up the mower, all that trash on the bottom of your open spout fuel can, can and will, go straight to the mower tank. Once in there, where do YOU think that trash and water will go? What is after the tank, on most, mowers? C a r b u r e t o r??????? Are we supposed to have trash in the carb? No, it clogs things up and makes it run like in the supplied video, most of us, watched.
The middle and left fuel cans pictured have better sealed spouts than the far right open spout, correct?
Study the picture I posted. Ask your self which one is better.

No worries pal. I dislike the new spouts BUT they do I feel, keep the fuel fresher being semi sealed and keeps trash out of the can. Pain in the rump to dispense fuel out of.
