Jb weld extreme heat paste

So for my machine which is an lt2000 Craftsman it calls for a Husqvarna muffler system so what I did was I bought the JB weld extreme heat paste supposedly it goes up to 1000° f I have no idea what's going to happen I just applied it this morning I'm probably going to wait at least 24 hours but it does apply very easily + hopefully this reduces muffler noise maybe others have had this and it works or it doesn't work I don't know but I'm hoping it will work.

not rated at high enough temp. That exhaust and muffler will easily reach over 1000 probably closer to 14-1500.
 
You know maybe you are correct but I can tell you I spent some time looking at the prices for the Husqvarna exhaust pipe and muffler believe it or not for the same exact part tractor supply wants about $30 and one vendor on Amazon wants $104 for exact same one. Also the problem with the current exhaust muffler system is one day about 4 years ago the muffler did get so hot that it melted the welds between the exhaust pipe and the muffler there's like four or five spot welds and the whole thing I think turned like red and then the muffler fell into the cage I haven't had temperatures like that since.

It is not unusual for exhaust pipes and muffler to get a red glow in dim light. That becomes visible at around 977F And in some cases will be come visible in brighter light which will be around 1200. Normal exhaust gas temps are around 1100 in most cases.

Prices for the same exact part can be all over the place. That's why a procurement officer can be worth their weight in gold. I know as I am my business procurement officer [one of many hats I wear]. I have save both my company and its customers quite a bit over the years.

In order to research the muffler I need the mower's real model number and not the layman hood decal number. And Husqvarna will at time put their PN on the muffler too.

This is the muffler above so it's part number 532137352 and it's a Husqvarna part. I wouldn't expect anyone to do the search that I did but you will find at the low end tractor supply around $30 and then the high end I found on Amazon for for $104. But typically I saw them priced around $42 plus or minus a couple bucks.
 
Well that muffler at my distributor is 26.99 with a list price of 44.99. But hey Husqvarna just to sell more mufflers.

And particular muffler flange need three seam welds on the flange not just six spot welds. Spot welds at a high flex point just don't cut it.
