MTD Honda Clone Fuel Delivery or 60 PSI Compression?

11A-A22J766 mower. Engine is a Chinese Honda clone 140cc. I cleaned carb w/ USC = no joy. New carb installed = no joy. Valve lash good at .005 Int & Exh. I can only get a 3 second run - seems moderately strong. Sounds like fuel delivery, eh? Fuel line flows adequately out of tank. Governor Spring seems new & not stretched. Compression is only 60 PSI - is that enough? Thanks, Doug

60 PSI is good for and engine with a cam compression relief built in.

This favors a lack of fuel supply from the tank.

Thanks, Auto Doc's. I'll chase fuel delivery.

Look for one of these shoved in the fuel tank line nipple or down inside the fuel line. Most people have no idea this is the fuel filter used on many small mowers:

I remove this hidden "pencil" filter and install an inline filter that can be serviced.

Good tips above.

Pull the fuel hose off AT the carb inlet. Drain into a glass jar or can. Look for water at the bottom. Specifically look for a healthy flow out of the hose. Do this till the tank is dry. If it has good flow for a bit then crawls, you have a tank vent issue. Good flow draining the tank is what you want. If this test is good, clean the carb.

I'll get some time on it today. Puzzling me. I get a strong 3 sec run, then winds down to stop. Gotta think fuel decrease. Will check for consistent spark but doubt coil craps out after 3 secs.
