A Briggs Model 254707 Code 0120-01

Several years ago I restored an old, 1973-4ish Dixon mower for grins....what a mechanical marvel it was/is!

Infrequently apparently the float valve sticks open totally flooding out the engine. I have an inline filter and shut off valve between the tank and the carb inlet. I have disassembled the carb many times thinking the needle valve has lodged open with dirt but it has always been clean.

The plastic float is not adjustable like the old brass versions. Many times I just adjust the shut off valve down too keep it running. I don't use it very often
so I keep the tank and the carb bowl dry and I always use Sea-Foam fuel treatment.

I'd appreciate some ideas .....thanks in advance,

bartles

Depending the date code and lmt number the needle may need replacing.

And plastic floats are adjustable; just got to know how. Besides if it has metal seat the seat is the adjustment.

".....and the floats are adjustable". I'll work on the "know how"

Thanks,
