Well it looks I got to drag out my chainsaws, repair the ones that not working, and clean a huge Bradford pear tree this week. And it will take most of the week due to the Afib induced problems.

Boy do I hate these trees. They are simply too brittle in one sense. And the way they grow the forks, they never heal into the rest of the tree so they just split at those areas. I got one down that is over 1-1/2 ft in diameter at the split off base. At least it miss the wood fence and feed can plus didn't take the power line for the well. Quite lucky.

No wonder when the electric company volunteer to take out 24 of them for free I jumped at the deal.

Minor damage when compared to the others that have much worst wind damage.

A local town to me had damage to both their grade school and high school Saturday morning due to an EF2 tornado. So they will be closed this week so they can reorganize on how to finish out the school year while they make repairs.

pears and wind do not do well together. Sorry about your mess - and the afib is not good either. I was diagnosed with it about 60 days ago and am now on thinners for the rest of my life to help mitigate stroke risk. You might consider seeing if a local gardener has a crew who can remove it. That is what we do, and my gardener friend is very reasonable.

Amen brother. We got rid of all ours several years ago. Got tired of the yearly pruning at $3500 before covid pricing. Not to mention the last guy in office prices. Also the plumbers calls after hours when the drain gets clogged from the roots under the slab. A couple of those ain't cheap.

Thought I would have no leaves in the spring. NOT. I just blow them towards the neighbors with trees. Love windy days. Helps move them out of my yard.
