    PTO clutch vibration

Did you use a dial indicator to see if there is any runout on the bottom of the crankshaft? It would be more accurate.Or use a coathanger afixed to the fame and rotate the engine by hand while someone watches to see of you have the slightest of run out. Also, its a shot in the dark, But I have...

Ventrac owners need to force a safety recall

I could be wrong but I thing school systems and Government buy contracts require them. I have never put on on a homeowners machine. at least not yet. If someone tries to put one on by themself, I'm sure the complaint box would fill up real quick. LOL.

Ventrac owners need to force a safety recall

Installing them Is a royal P.I.A. Every school system had them installed and I dreaded installing them. Probably did 40 or so of them over the years. That was pretty much mandatory. Personally if I was that concerned about running someone over as a general consumer/homeowner, I would add mirrors ...

Best Oil To Use For Kawasaki

I can't tell you the amount, But as a certified Small engine mechanic I can say that Kawasaki and Kohler oil both have Zink (Same oil, different label). Short story: One Sunday I was servicing my neighbor's lawn mower and didn't have the Honda oil I normally use in low end machines, so after...

RPM for a 22" residential push mower

The maximum torque achieved for your engine is between 2600 and 2800 RPM. It drops after that. A slightly bent crankshaft will cause vibration even with a perfectly balanced blade.

    Fuel pump

I had a few from my Briggs supplier that didn't last long. A weak one can also cause the engine to surge and that can drive you nuts.

    Fuel pump

These pulse fuel pumps are all the same. The only difference is what band name you buy it from that designates the price. I have converted many over to low-pressure electric pumps. The only issue I had was one tractor that was left out in the rain got water in the pump and blew the fuse. I used...

    The frozen whelk thread

Being in the repair business for 40+ years , you have few options. Replace the tire on the rim while on the tractor. Use Kroil to loosen the rust, (Expensive but actually works) and use a puller to remove the rim. There are 1/16" snap rings holding the spider gears on the axle inside the gear...

Best Oil To Use For Kawasaki

Kawasaki and Kohler oils both have Zinc in them. A lubricant not effected by the heat that these air cooled engines produce.. Not available at automotive parts stores. Zinc infused oils will poison catalytic converters, so I think that's why they don't sell Zink infused oils. Kawasaki and...
