    LT2700 Silver Eagle battery

I disagree interstate is in any way inferior. Yes battery quality is by far an issue. The best battery will be severrly or completely damaged by being dead for 24 hours by allowing sulfation to destroy it.

    LT2700 Silver Eagle battery

That battery needs to be load tested and I would bet it is toast. There is a reason that even Interstate only offers a 6 month warranty on these batteries. They sit to many days with nothing happening and the charging systems are marginal if the unit is run at lower rpm's. 300 cranking amps is...

    Do these look normal?

I agree but also agree with prior comment that RC14yc is better. We see that as almost a normal change on so many units, it becomes habit. These are not a full heat range hotter, only a half or 3/4 step up.

    Poulan Pro PP5020 won't start

Also if the muffler is plugged no air flow/exhaust will flow thru. Also you say the compression feels right - but pull it over slow. If is has very little resistance the cylinder leakage is not good. At a slow pull the compression should not leak off overly significant, at a fast pull it will...

Lawnmower won’t start unless it’s in slow

I think that model has an automatic choke and a few service bulletins - even without bulletins it sounds like lean at attempt to start which means choke however it is operated.

Zero turn Kubota Drive belt issues

examine the belt and report any thing found. Examine all rubs and tracking and report. Feel the idlers without tension and report. swing the tensioner and insure take up will happen. View design path of installation of belt is proper. Talk to factory tech if nothing found.

    Husqvarna yth2148 charging problems.

So no matter the condition of your battery, read the battery voltage before starting it and after a full charge. Note that at rest voltage ("Static") - lets say it is 12.6 and charger is off it for 2 min before the reading. Then start the motor and see what the voltage is at idle and at full...

    Need light weight mower

changing your mowing pattern will also help. Rolling the lawn will help. dual tires will help. 2 pounds less in the tires will help. A tail wheel with adjustable down pressure will help.

    Garden Tractor Brain Teaser

If you jump start at the solenoid, you have bypassed the permission to crank circuit which is probably the cause, so it does not mean it is the solenoid, but one or the other is most likely.

Cub Cadet Wont Start Kohler Courage 23

I second the fuel solenoid - and add they can be very intermittent and also may only stroke partially so that under load or higher rpm you run out of fuel.

Toro Time Cutter SS4225 Wont Turn Over

Your engine when parked is filling the top of cylinder(s) with oil or gas. when you crank it over by hand or have run it and start it up soon after running, the oil or gas in the cylinder has been pushed out so the piston can travel full stroke. Both oil or gas or both cannot be compressed. Oil...

Best 2 cycle oil, and why

No!! All designs of recent equipment has had to comply with the Clean Air Act, thus less oil , and LESS LUBRICATION. We have never condemned so many 2 cycle items as in recent years. Mix at 32 to 1 for engine life for everything rated 32 or 50 or 100 to 1. Just saying reasons for everything, and...

    Mower won’t start easily

This video is in error to the extent that gas is not pushed by the primer bulb. It presureizes the bowl over gas chamber to push down on the gas in the bowl to push the gas up the main jet tube and into the carb throat.

    Poulan Pro hydrostatic transmission

I would stick to 20W-50, syn, blend, or other - but 20w-50 for thermal weight that will not bypass and score and film properly.

    Poulan Pro hydrostatic transmission

Most all hydro's MUST use the exact oil recommended. Anything different will cause problems.

Kohler offers the body and the proper connectors that lock into the connector body as individual parts. Off hand I do not know the pn'S BUT that is one source. I stock them for just the issue you have and have to rebuild many harnesses.

    Spindle tacho

A sudden stop of the blades are caused by 1) object obstruction 2) clump of grass wedged blade tip to deck, 3) bearing bind, 4) belt path loose or off, 5) PTO clutch drop out, etc. Since this happens only while mulching, I put my money on 2. Usually when this is building up to a final wedge, a...

Will an early 80's Briggs run with 50 psi?

Points - wrong advise unless the engine is missing on some power strokes. 50 pounds is enough to start and run. Compression varies with speed of rotation. Most small engines have no specs for compression as a basis for such a reading cannot be established. Cleaning the carbon up by taking the...

MTD riding mower, mid 90s, stops moving intermittently

some models have details on the hood or pedestal as to this procedure, other's are found in the owners manual. IN NUETRAL let pedal up and go thru the speeds up and down. Exercise it a bit with the instructions given and lube applied. If that does not bring it around, you have a failure in need...

    engine starts and dies

This fix is a good fix for most but a caution has been found. Some later units now only use the fuel shut off to kill the engine, in that the spark is not killed when the switch is turned off. These units take a couple seconds to shut off when the key is turned off. If unsure, check for the kill...

    Help identify a part

If this design has one on each side, I have two cautions. 1) replace both. 2) wheel toe in toe out may be fighting due to front axle mounting slop allowing the axle to tilt for and aft causing toe in toe out to change beyond normal in forward and reverse but in opposite widths of toe in. The...
