If you didn't replace the broken fan you can bet it'll self destruct. Fan and air ducts are there for a reason. Taking its temperature won't cure the illness.

Jim, I have been following this thread and just looked at the post attachment of the flywheel and key alignment from page 22 of the comments. It appears that the flywheel isn't sitting square on the shaft and there looks like a large amount of 'slop' between the shaft and keyway. Could it be...

I have been following the thread and agree that timing could be your problem with the no-start. Unless I missed it, you never said that you removed the flywheel and checked the key to be sure it wasn't sheered. Have you done this?

Not a fan of bypassing switches. That said, check to see if the switch has two wires connected to it. If so, run a jumper wire from one to the other. This should bypass the switch.

I dropped the trans axle out of my john Deere l110 for some repairs. On reinstall, the drive belt seems way too long. I did not remove the belt, just slipped it up and off the pulley. I would sure appreciate any advice.
