Back on this shift problem.. the compression release was definitely bad, I fished all the parts out of it, then replaced the cam shaft, then adjusted the valves.. had to get a new carb and clean out the gas tank.. runs and mows great.. still no shift or reverse.. As to the value of this mower...

Yes it’s moving freely.. I wonder if someone sold me the wrong strength air Cain spring.. but I tried stretching other springs and such for different tensions.. Also the thermostat doesn’t even start to hold it open until it’s pretty much completely warmed up.: Cowboy..

I would have to agree, but I don k now why it’s not opening the choke other than the thermostat is not holding it open until it warms up really good..
