we are 300 miles from any kind of decent hardware store let alone a small engine shop. I will probably take it out and use a bow tie clip or a cotter pin

This had the old cup style that gets ruined when you take it off. I don't think this rod has a drilled end and I will have to take it out to drill it. I have lot's of the bow style.
I am working on a BS 44 m777 0148b1 that has no spark from either module. I have disconnected the ground wire and still no spark. It just doesn't seem right that both modules should go at the same time?
Working on model 33S777 0004g1. It blows gray/blue smoke after running 2/3 minutes and the small vent on the fuel pump starts to leak oil. Is the diaphragm in the fuel pump leaking. It is the only thing that I can think happening. The oil level is fine (not over filled).
No but that is next on my list. It almost comes up solid but you can pull it through and then it turns easy until the next time it comes up "really" hard.
