update on snapper: today I charged the battery which was at 11.9VDC charged for 25 minutes then put on recondition for additional 20 minutes. throttle to choke an she cranked right up. finisied the back yard w/ the bagger. I still had leftover leaves from winter. anyway she seams to be running...

OK I clean all around engine. I believe when I push the throttle all the way forward thats the choke so after ignition I pull back throttle to near the middle where the rabbit is or a tad less. 5 days ago I restarted several times I think I just left the throttle at the rabbit (fast setting)...

yes definitely something inside carb. I actuely dissassembled it the float wasn't punctured I'm no carb expert even a simpley one like this. so opted to replace an hopefor the best. now I do run the carb dry when done mowing. it was so strange to see fuel shoot up in air though then blown head...

so this extra piece is optional an not needed? the thin cable appears tricky to remove/reinstall

update: way to cold to be outside fixing the snapper, I recieved new carb. there was an extra small black plastic piece not sure what it is? carb appears decent. hope it works.

OK I will retorque then 18LBs even after a few mows. you know that mite be why the gasket blew. remember I reused from my orginal engines head an gasket, all I did was snug w/ regular racket (of course from middle to outside kindof) then tighten on 2nd pass. next attempt I'm more educated thanks...

your absolutley correct about starting in middle working way outward some of the ytubers are giving alot of missinformation like one Guy sanded old gasket w/ a stainless steel wire wheel then torqured in a circle. most ytubers give good advice. thanks sgkent

I think this could be the torque sequence first pass 6LBs 2nd 12LBs 3rd 18LB then after first mow torque again to 18LBs.
