Sponge in Stihl fs56 gas tank

The fuel filter is still in the tank. I bought the trimmer new roughly 2.5 years ago and its never been serviced by anyone. She has treated me well so I will get a tune up kit, thanks for the suggestion.

Same regarding the brush blade. My mother has something in her ditch growing like crazy. Neighbour cut it with chain saw cause it blocked vision to leave driveway. The blade on my 56RC cuts through it in seconds.

Sponge in Stihl fs56 gas tank

Thanks all, I pulled it out the same day I noticed it. Trimmer has been running like a champ almost steadily since then with no issues so said sponge will remain on the bench! Again thanks, I appreciate all feedback.

Mine will start usually first pull, second at most. Guard is who knows where and she is a bit thirsty, but I agree that choke is tough to twist in its location. Maybe when she is done I will check out that Echo

Sponge in Stihl fs56 gas tank

Is it hard to put back? Alternatively is it vital to trimmer running properly? On my way to trim my 80 year old mother's property and sponge is on my bench..

What exactly don't you like? I honestly have no complaints but I don't give it a lot of hard use. Had mine for roughly 2 years with no issues. None so far anyway lol

Sponge in Stihl fs56 gas tank

Hi guys, today when filling up the tank on my trimmer I noticed this small round sponge inside..does it belong somewhere or did I accidentally drop this in at some point. Seems to run fine.

    Broken spring

Hi guys, newbi with a problem. I have a Troy Bilt 36B, was cutting the grass and stopped the mower for a minute, when I attempted to release the parking brake I head a snap. I am hoping to curl the end of the spring enough to attach it but not sure where its supposed to hook. Cannot see any...
