The Nikki carb gave out and flooded the crank case. Changed the oil and installed a cheap replacement carb but not it surges in all but idle or full throttle and the mower engaged. Any suggestions to look at to fix it? Thanks

I was out mowing today and tapped the brakes as I neared the edge of the lawn when the P brake engaged. The motor fires up and runs well and the deck engages. I just can't disengaged the P brake. Any thoughts that might help or things to look for? Thanks ratled
