Update: fuse was blown. Replaced it and the mower fired up and blades engaged fine.

OK, bear with me on this. Old craftsman 917.275680 24 HP lawn tractor.. Two weeks ago I had to replace the deck belt.. I replaced it, I went to mow and I pulled the blade engage switch and nothing. Shut the mower off, looked at the wires, didn't really find anything. Belt was installed...
