I have a 616 Grass Hopper When I push the handles to go forward the left one lack about 1" to go forward as the far forward as the right one. Also, when I put it neutral it wants to go backward. I have adjusted it per instruction with no resalts. Can you help me. Thank you for your time...

When you try to start it do you hear a click at the Solenoid? If you do not see if you can turn the blades by hand. if you cannot I would say you have a bent shaft.

I do not know what to think. Yesterday and this morning it was surging. I went back and run it this afternoon after I got your message and it is running well. I tried it at different speeds and mowing a little it still ran well. So, I do not know. I do thank you for your information Melvin.

I have a Briggs Model 356442, Type 0224-B1, Code 090119. It is surging at all speeds. What would cause it do do that. How can I fix it.

I cannot find the oil pump in the parts list. Do you know the part number for the pump? Where do you find the date code.

I have a Grasshopper 616 with a Briggs Vanguard engine Model 356442 Type 0224-B1. I am not getting oil on the top end. I took the valve cover off and ran the engine I did not see any oil. Could you tell me what it might be the cause. Also what I need to do.

Have you checked the flatness of the head and block?
