I'm pretty sure the engine in my electric weed trimmer is shot. Is it worth taking to a small engine repair shop to try and have it fixed or would it be easier and more cost effective to just go to WalMart and buy a new one ? I think I can get the same kind for about $40.

Does anyone have a good method of getting rid of ants and ant hills ? I've started developing them all over my lawn. I've tried ant killer pesticides, but then a new ant hill springs up 20-30 feet away a week or so later.

I have a long driveway so use a plow on my 4x4 pickup for snow removal. But I also have a long, narrrow walkway as well and am looking to buy a good push snow blower for this winter. Can anyone recommend a good brand and model for about $400-500 ?

Can anyone recommend a good fall lawn fertlizer ratio (nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium) ? A friend of mine suggest 26-8-4. Does this make sense ? I'm trying to gear up for good growth in the spring.

I recently read a Consumer Reports article that indicated that John Deere and Bolens were rated the best among large-scale riding lawnmowers. I'm not sure I agree. I think Toro is quite good as well. What do you think ?

I'm having an argument with my husband. Do you think it's better to build a deck for the back of your house (attached) from scratch or better to purchase a pre-made kit ? What are the pros and cons ?
