In looking at the pictures of the machine, the distance from the frame is equal on both sides... strange. Can you post a picture? This pic is from the website and they look evenly spaced.

I use the Champion Copper RA8HC, I never have any issues with good 'ol Champion copper plugs. The part number is Champion 810 for parts stores. Why in God's green earth Kohler had to produce an engine with an oddball plug is beyond me. Virtually all OHV engines use the Champion 71 (RC12YC) plug.

It sounds like the wheel is on backwards. Pull it off the axle, rotate it 180 degrees, and re-install. Alternately, if the wheels are bolted on, the hub may be on backwards. Since it is new, I would like the dealer to correct it asap.

In my opinion, adding one ounce per gallon is superfluous and will not significantly extend storage time. That is three times the suggested ratio of mix. I follow the directions and have never had any problems. All my machines, though, are kept year-round in a heated garage. Some of my "stuff"...

The dealer is responsible, and I would demand they fix it correctly. The Confidant is an excellent engine with the same durability as the command, they claim. They screwed it up and they need to fix it. That is a pricey engine, around 2k.

You did the right thing...I would have done the same. Reputation is everything to a successful business, and mine is a perfect 5 stars—not even one 4-star review. It pays off in word of mouth. That minor cost might bring in five new customers.

No points, simple snow king coil with a kill wire and the plug wire. I did use the J19LM non-resistor as well as several other plugs. The only one that produced a spark was an NGK bpr6es and the J8C. I also tried an H10C which is used in Kohler K's and nada. Weird.

I wouldn't worry about it in the least. It is just the way the oil is being splashed, if it gets some oil, it'll be fine. Run it.
