Yep, that was it. Adjusted the choke to close fully and problem solved ! Much thanks

LT1040, will not start w/o ether. Once it start no issues. It has NEW gas, NEW carburetor, NEW magneto (gapped at 11). Battery turns over as it should (for ever), quick splash of starting ether, fires over and runs, warms up and throttles down to idle no issues? Looking for suggestions, thanks
