OK to use synthetic oil ?

At this point, you’re doing your engine a disservice by not using synthetic oil. It’s a much better product than conventional oil. There is no downside other than cost.

Hydrostatic Transmission Fuel Cold Line - Hard to Read

It is often also helpful with things like this to try a different method. What seems to work well is to remove the fill cap take a flashlight and shine into the opening. The fluid level will show up darker on the outside of the reservoir tank.

Does a higher grade fuel do any good?

I have to somewhat local locations where I can get ethanol free fuel. It is 91 octane. Machines seem to run better, but just a gut feeling

Engine bogs when PTO is engaged **FIXED**

And yet another. Was chasing an odd sound, ended up being the PTO clutch. Replaced it, both bearings were in very poor condition. Engine side was dry and very rough. The aft bearing was dry & had some crumbles of what I think was lithium left from the grease. Engagement is rather smooth now at...

Lazer Z pto clutch noise **Fixed

Age and hours have no relevance. A bad bearing can happen at 120 or 1200 hours. A new clutch fixed the noise. Bad engine side bearing. Dry and very rough. My thanks to those that replied here and provided positive input, and to those few who messaged me with the same. You guys are awesome...

Welcome to the Exmark Forum -- Check in Here First!

I guess I never really checked in. Started out with a used high power Lazer Z. When we moved this house came with a John Deere D130. An OK mower, but for mowing 3 acres weekly. It was getting quite a bit of abuse. Fast forward a bit got into a seemingly well-kept 2006 Lazer Z with the 66 inch...

Engine bogs when PTO is engaged **FIXED**

Ok…..so I think I’m set. I did a compression test and it was acceptable. After changing plugs, I noticed they carboned up very quickly. I also noticed a few videos about bad head gaskets, guys spoke of a puff, puff sound when the engine stopped. I decided to take the advice of a few here and...

    Kawasaki Valve Guides

The seals can be replaced with the head on, if you are knowledgeable and resourceful. Air pressure can hold valves on their seats. Will need to compress the valve springs and remove to replace the seals
