    Voltage Regulator Keeps Going Out

Keep a spare battery, charged up in your garage to use for the sprayer and such things. Without a lot of work and expense, you are going to keep burning them up.

Would like to see the model / serial number plate on that mower. Thanks Here is a possible quick check of your governor operation. These are pics of my D-400 engine on a Model 4301 Lawn Boy. Well, I guess I cannot load pics. "File is too large" (Whatever that means) I will do my best to...

Bad engines ? Three years ago I had a Cub Cadet rider with a Kohler engine that cracked right down the back and lost all of the oil.

Sounds to me like you are talking about Kohlers infamous "Courage" engine. They a known for this. Like the saying goes, "It takes a lot of Courage to own a Courage"

    Old machine..lost

Are you sure it is 7'8". If so, that is very un-common. Shafts are usually 3/4" or 1". Adapters from 3/4 to 1 are readily available. That's not to say 7/8" to 1" is not available though. Poke here for info

I have a question about the old Tecumseh SSI. I know there are trigger pins located in the flywheel, which somehow "trigger" the coil to fire. My question is, just what EXACTLY do these pins do? They are not magnetic. They don't seem to be of any special material. They somehow signal a sensor...

    Tecumseh Timing Tool 670241

Yes, I removed it. I refined the tool, and made it more user friendly. The new tool works much better on larger motors.

I wanted to reply to a comment someone made, about spinning a Lawn Boy with a drill. At the time, I could not get pics to load. Now I can't find the post. Anyway, this is what can happen spinning a Lawn Boy with a drill, if you don,t get the drill off fast enough. It was an expensive lesson for...
