Follow up, looks like the oil level safety switch may be the issue. I disconnected the sensor and the engine won't quit. Thanks for all the help, T

Just confused, the switch works when everything is disconnected. That black wire shows the 1.5 between it and ground. I assume that's normal.

I appreciate the help. I looked all over the engine and can't find a tag. Only see an emissions tag. It doesn't say Vanguard or Intek anywhere. I will take a close look at everything you mentioned. Ive been though 6 engines on this thing since the 80s but this thing runs perfect when it runs...
