    Turbocharging a lawn mower

I'd be interested in hearing about it too. I wouldn't use one on my lawn-cutting rigs, but a mud-mower would be fun. Turbo-Kaboom!

Can a governor spring cause smoking?

When you put a bend on it and re-attached it you effectively made the engine rev a little higher than it was. When you add more load it revs even higher than it used to. If the engine wasn't having issues with the gov spring off, but is having issues with it on, it's likely a slightly to...

Problems assemblying Homelite HB-180 throttle lock and push shutoff.

The threaded end of B sticks out of the case opposite the pull cord when properly installed. You push/pull it to engage the lock for starting. Do you have B installed in the wrong direction?

    Strimmer GL7033-GB

The electric motor sounds good under load. What I think you're hearing is the cable inside the shaft as it slows down, and that's normal on curved shafts. A tech would charge you to open it up and check the upper bearing and bottom head connections. Save your money imo. If the shaft is easily...

Briggs Engine Repeatedly Dies, fouled plug

I spent my Saturday fixing a Briggs with this problem and while doing research this post came up in search(yay!) so I thought I'd share the solution that worked for me. I tried much of the above with no change, hopefully this helps someone. - I did a compression test and found my motor only had...

300E Yard Machines Mower not working with muliple fixes

I just had this same issue on a mower 10 days ago. It turns out the engine was fine but the safety cable was barely engaging. It looked like it was working but the connection was minimal at best even with the safety bar fully engaged. I didn't have to replace it, some cleaning of the gunk near...

    Battery drain while operating

    - Unplug the lights. Nobody mows at night (I hope). It's not a solution but if your system is just weakened it should help a little. I find it hard to believe that a good fresh battery would be drained completely in just one mowing so I'd start with properly load testing your battery.

    Hey New Members

This is great, very helpful. I inherited a couple of old mowers and am trying to find info on those. One has been patched and painted and there's not much info online about it, I'm pretty sure it's a great dane mower. The other is an AGTrac riding mower that I can find literally NO information...
