Can anyone recommend a good supplier for parts if I want fabricate an exhaust manifold and/or muffler? I have an older Intek and these parts new are prohibitively expensive (probably more than the mower is worth).

This fault came down to 1) incorrect valve lash 2) broken brush carrier in the starter 3) bad ground strap. Yes, a three way problem! The starter turns the engine over much faster now, and will run on ether now. Thank you all very much for your guidance, it made all the difference in the world.

Is the 1/4 inch measurement critical within some tolerance? IE do I need a gauge or would 3/8" or 1/2" work too?
