Honda HRR216K9VKA dies after 15 minutes

I have the exact same mower. There is a small piece behind the carburetor, called a thermo wax assembly. These are cheap pieces that go bad easily. My mower was doing the exact same thing. I replaced the carburetor, coil, gas cap, and spark plug and it still shut off after 15 minutes. Once I...

Honda HRR216K9VKA dies after 15 minutes

I have been through the steps of each reply. Spraying carb cleaner will keep it running but there is no restriction in the fuel hose. The carb is brand new. Not sure what other fuel problem there could be.

Honda HRR216K9VKA dies after 15 minutes

So here’s an update…I replaced the fuel cap and the problem still exists. I replaced the thermowax choke actuator and the mower started and ran at a very high rpm. Not sure what caused the high rpm but I mowed with it anyway. It started sputtering after 15 minutes like always and eventually...

I tried to run it with the fuel cap off and got the same issue. Oil level is perfect.

Honda HRR216K9VKA dies after 15 minutes

I have a walk behind mower model HRR216K9VKA with the Honda gcv160 engine. After about 15 minutes of use it starts to sputter and eventually dies. It has a new carb, new air filter, new spark plug and new gas. Still the same issue after all the updates. The mower is not too old and has not...

    Koehler ZT740 in a pond

Pulled the flywheel again today and found the key was sheared. Timing has been way off as a result. I’m sure I can get some keystock at a local auto parts house. Anyone have any idea how big that key is? It was completely obliterated and I have nothing to go on. All parts diagrams only show a...

    Koehler ZT740 in a pond

I removed the flywheel when I tore it down.

    Koehler ZT740 in a pond

Spark plugs are fine. The flywheel key was not sheared. How do I adjust the timing? The engine is definitely grounded. It’s so got that you can’t get near the back end of the mower. I am in desperate need of getting this back up and running. I mowed with it for about 30 minutes after it was...

    Overheating Kohler

One of my employees put my zero turn mower into a pond. The motor is a Kohler ZT 740–3017. When I open the case, I found both piston rods to be bent. I replaced both pistons and rods. There was no scoring to the cylinder walls. I reassembled everything and the mower runs extremely hot. The oil...

    Koehler ZT740 in a pond

One of my crew put my bad boy maverick with a Koehler ZT740 into a pond. It bent both piston arms but everything else seemed to be ok. I replaced the piston rods, one of the pistons and put everything back together. The mower starts and runs but gets extremely hot. So hot that it has started to...
