    Age old question, Winter Storage?

I have never used any fuel additive and have never had any problems starting in the spring. I shut the fuel off and run the engine till it starts to die out then I apply the choke and let it run till it dies and that probably gets all of the gas out of the bowl. I have unplugged a lot of...

    Broken frame

Whether you weld it or plate it you are going to have to take some stuff off in order to get to the break. In my opinion I don't think a one inch strip of metal on each side of the break would be enough. You would have to use some small bolts and I don't think they could handle the pounding of...

    Rear Tire Change

If the hole is 7/16 of an inch or smaller you can use a plug-n-patch. It's a patch with a stem on it. You have to take the tire off and you pull the plug thru the hole then the patch attaches to the inside of the tire. Being a lawn mower tire the hole could be bigger than 7/16 because you only...

    Honda EM2500 generator

I'd say your needle valve isn't closing. The float could be full of gas or have a hole in it or stuck and it could be that something is between the seat and the needle valve. Was there a lot of crap in the bowl when you took it off and cleaned it?

Vintage Briggs - Need help with points and ignition coil

I had an engine with a bad coil and found one that fit but was originally matched to a smaller flywheel. I put it on and it ran. I never did put it to use so I don't know how long it would last.

ZG124E Runs on after key is turned off

I had that problem with my Khroler engine. It had an oil leak and puked oil all over it and then dust and grass collected on the cooling fins and it would over heat. I took the engine out and fixed the leak and cleaned the engine and then it would shut down when the key was turned off. So my...

    Planing rebuild FR651V

LOL. I never knew the family dog produced more pollution than a lawn mower. I probably push more pollution out my donkey every day.LOL!

    bad rings ?

I took the crakshaft seals out and then slid them over the caranksahft and they were very loose so they probably were allowing air to be sucked in on the up stroke. I put new seals in and that stopped the engine from puking oil out the vent pipe.

    bad rings ?

Actually the oil is blowing out the tube coming from the breather so it's not plugged and I had the engine apart and put a new piston and rings in it . The oil level was correct and probably a little low as it has been blowing it out. Would you go into a little more detail about how the fuel...

Walt, would that go for crankshaft seals too? In the earlier post I just said crank seals. dana

    bad rings ?

OK. Thanks Star Tech.I will try the leak test. I have the engine back on the mower. I'll put it in high gear and set the brake and hope that it doesn't take off out thru the garage door, LOL. I'll start of with low air pressure first. I have to say one thing about this OH160, I've never seen any...

    bad rings ?

Star Tech. I have a question about your comment here. I have a thread about getting a steel pipe out of a 1973 Craftsman Surburban with a Tecumseh OH160 head. I got the thing running but after it runs a few minutes it starts blowing oil out the vent tube. I asked the head man at the local Cub...

    Running/Idle RPMs

At max RPM, have you held the throttle still in one position? If so does it still make that popping sound? It soulds like it is popping back thrun the carb like a burnt or leaking intake valve.
