    Craftsman T110 Will Not Move

Thanks, I tried it several time but still nothing. Here's a text from my friend where he describes what happened. Maybe it will help. "Bought it last year. It was having a problem the last few weeks going downhill. Kind of skipping. Then last week going down the hill it just gave out. Wouldn't...

    Craftsman T110 Will Not Move

Looking at this for a friend. The mower will not move forward or reverse. I have a feeling it's the actual trans that's bad, but wanted to see what the experts think. All of the belts are on and in good shape. The linkage seems to be ok, I can move the selector and watch the piston move in and...

Can a governor spring cause smoking?

Great info, thank you!!! Based on some of the responses it probably doesn't have over head valves, so a blown head gasket is out of the question as a reason for the smoking. I'm just trying to narrow things down for the next time I go and look at it. I think my plan is going to be to change the...

Can a governor spring cause smoking?

It's a tractor, so I didn't lay it on its side. I did lift up one side to try and get all of the gas out of the engine (exhaust/muffler was up), probably 45 degrees max. It is not overfilled with oil. I'll get some pics the next time I'm at my mom's. Is anyone familiar with the model in the pic...

Can a governor spring cause smoking?

Thanks for the responses! Didn't want to write a book about the situation yesterday, so I kept it short. It's my dad's mower, a few weeks ago my brother went to cut the grass and noticed that there was gas leaking through the carb. I have no idea how long it was like that. It may have been used...

Can a governor spring cause smoking?

Sorry I don't have many detalis about the engine, it's a Brigg's 11hp in an old Murray riding mower. The governor spring was broken off at the lever, so I put a bend on it and re-attached it. Ran ok but it did lose a little power under heavy load and started blowing blue smoke. The smoking was...

    No Neutral With Hydro Trans

Is there a part in there that you're trying to point me towards?

    Yard Machines Won''t Srart

Tecumseh engine? Could be the pressure release on the cam is broken off. Just had to replace mine for the same problem you're having.

    No Neutral With Hydro Trans

Anyone know if there is an adjustment for the trans? When the lever is in neutral, the mower still creeps forward or backward. Seems to also be very touchy, meaning when you inch the lever forward or backward it is "full on" and isn't gradual. Thank you

    Help finding max RPM setting

Thanks, good to know. This is on a Troy Bilt 42" riding mower. Not sure why, but I had a feeling it was running too fast. I ordered an rpm gauge and checked it today and it was about 3800 rpm. I adjusted it down to 3600 now (no load) and it sounds much better.

Thank you!! If you can post that link, that would be great. Not questioning you, just would like to have it for future reference. I did try finding there first, but couldn't find anything.

Craftsman LT2000 tractor, Briggs 31P7770299 18hp Intek OHV engine. A few issues...

Trying to help my neighbor out with his tractor. It was... backfiring, loping up/down, not starting. So far I've: cleaned the carb (nikki), installed a new bowl gasket/oring and needle, replaced fuel line and filter, spark plug, air filter and adjusted the valve clearances. It runs much better...

Air lift & Trans Oil/Fluid Questions

Hi all, 2 quick questions. I have a Snapper LT140H33BBV, 33" front engine tractor. I bought it used and it had the bagger attached which I removed and just put on a side deflector. Question 1 is, will removing the air lifts from the blade make it cut any differently? Question 2 is, what type of...
