    I fixed it! It was a governor bent in the wrong direction. It took me a while to find a similar engine with a properly positioned governor. www.briggsandstratton.com were no help. They claimed to not have have any photos or diagrams of my engine ASSEMBLED. Thanks to Sgkent and Star Tech for...

    Hi All, I have a Craftsman trimmer mower model 917.773720. It has a Briggs & Stratton 6.25 engine. It starts fine but runs at a high rpm when started. I have replaced the carb but problem still persists. Please advise!
