I am posting a couple more pics of the top of the carburetor.

    TB90BC Bushcutter-Help

I am sorry, did you look at the picture? I see no where on that red thing or the white thing where a screw driver would, of any size would have any effect. Also, it appears that both these things have a locking mechanism to prevent them turning. I could be wrong, hope I am, but I don't see in...

    TB90BC Bushcutter-Help

I changed all the fuel lines and the primer. No change, still dies. I am going try adjusting the high speed adjuster. I think I need a special tool to do that. I am attaching a pic of the top of the carburetor. The choke is the bigger white thingy. The other thingy (the white and red thing)...

I replaced the primer. Did not help. Seems to prime better, but the machine still dies. I tried pressing on the primer before it dies, pulling more gas into the carburetor. Did not help, still died. I need some more of your thoughts, please.

Thank you . The filter was in the tank. The primer is suppose to draw (pull) gas from the tank through the carburator, and back to the tank. The current primer bulb does not get hard. I suspect that might be an issue.

Thank you. I am going to try replacing the primer pump. In my mind, I am thinking it is not holding the pressure, the bulb will not get hard. The check valve is not closing (I think). At this point I am not sure of anything.

Thanks, I did put a new fuel filter on it, no change. I have not replaced the fuel line, yet. I have been thinking the same (I just went for a long walk, when I do my best thinking). The lines do not appear to be cracked or split. However, the primer pump does seem to be drawing air, not...

    TB90BC Bushcutter-Help

I give up, I need help. I have been working on my Troy-built TB90BC Bushcutter. It is old, but still use to work. It will run on choke. Idles great and runs great for about 30 seconds, then just dies. I have cleaned the Zama C1Q-P18A carburator in my ultra sonic cleaner over night. (Before...

    021 starts, high RPM

My Stihl 021 starts runs on choke, switch to run, very high rpm for less than a minute then dies. New carburtor, adjusting air fuel does nothing. Any ideas?

Starter will not turn engine sometimes

Further to this discussion. I have continued researching, and it appears that the compression is a common issue with these engines. It appears that setting the value clearance to a tight .004" to allow the exhaust valve to open a fraction of a second sooner will release some of the...

Starter will not turn engine sometimes

Some more info on this issue: I jumped the solenoid today and the same issue was evident, so that eliminates the solenoid. I put a battery charger to boost the battery, this caused the starter to spin the engine every time, so this points to the amount of cranking amps being drawn by the...

Starter will not turn engine sometimes

Anybody heard of this? I looked at buying a new starter, just researching so far. The new starters have 9 teeth instead of the ten teeth, suggests more torque to turn that engine. This would suggest there might be a common issue with these engines. Any thoughts?

Starter will not turn engine sometimes

That is interesting, I suppose if the compression is strong the starter might not have enough torque to turn the engine and after it bumps a few times the valves might open enough to let the compression decrease, thereby letting the starter get a few revolutions in, tyhereby starting the engine...
