@bertsmobile1, Thanks, I will look into a pump. The service manual has good instructions on that repair. If I have to take the units out, May as well look into replacing the worn pump while Im at it.
Now I have found the actual service manual for my Hydraulic Unit. I now know it is a ZT-2200 (EZT) Hydro Gear. Gives great instructions on changing the fluid, Including that the fluid does not get filled to 100%. BLN-52622_ZT2100_ZT2200.pdf
@StarTech, I saw in another of your posts that you mentioned thicker oil on older units. Mine is 15 YO with 600+ hours. Im sure the oil has never been changed. It works fine but the pumps are quite whiny. Would you suggest a thicker synthetic? 20w50?
Thanks for that StarTech. I did find this video on screwtube - watch
And this Schematic ZC-ZD-Service-Schematic.pdf
And saw a fill spec of 56 oz 20w50 dyno. I will definitely go with the synthetic you suggested. AMSoil seems like the goto.
The guy in the video says the case should be 100% full...
I see this post is a little old. I Have this Same Question. More importantly, If the fluid can be changed, what fluid would these mowers take?
OP, did you ever find an answer?
