Toro is back using Kawasaki engines as well as their lochin engines. Seems they are drifting from Kohler.

Since Kawasaki never made any oil, their K Tech is made by outsourcing to their specs. So just saying.. It may say Kaw on the label. But it's where they get best deal & to their requirements.

Bert- Actually what he had was over a year ago, & it affected many running a Mac. it was some ransome ware bug that wanted money to give back access.. From the lil I read, this was a big breach that affected many here in the states. Don't know about down under..

Cpurvis- I really don't know about the T6, other than it is not JASO rated on the label on back. When I called Shell Rotella I told the tech what I had (solid lifter) air cooled Kawasaki mower. He immediately brought up the T4 & explained that it is not for anything with cat convertors. etc...

MS tried to do an auto update to mine, but it failed, Then they took it away to work out some issues, w/that program. But has been back for a bit now. I'm leary if it does update will it change my preferred browsers & everything to MS Edge & etc. Thanks for your reply. Least I'm not alone.

You seem to be throwing money at it. Do some diagnostic tests first.. 1 would have been a Leak Down test to determine if it was top end or rings etc. 2 would be compression test.

Checking the oil BEFORE use is the key. You would have spotted an over full condition then. I never even start my old Flathead Briggs push mow without first checking the oil, let alone my Z.

The Dip Stick can still read relatively clean, but a drain of the engine oil would show black oil. Dirt & crud settle. Are you sure the location is from the engine ? I had an old craftsman tractor & it started leaking at the rear axles. It was a 6 speed Dana
