It's interesting that it is sputtering on bumps. This may be a ridiculous suggestion, but have you checked the terminal connections on that new battery to assure they aren't slightly loose and that the connectors are clean. My suspicion is aroused because if it's not any of the other issues...

Steering wheels actually somewhat control the direction of the mowing path rather than just flipping around like casters on a desk chair. It has to help, unless off the ground, but not much!

Hey GH36: If anyone out there is interested in a ZT battery op, EGO also makes one with a steering wheel. My next-door neighbor bought one and has used it this season. He loves it. I almost bought one myself but decided to wait until next time (if I don't croak before!)

I used 2- 45lb. weights on the rear of my JD X-370 to mow across similarly steep, and steeper, sections of the field adjoining my house lot. I had previously owned a Husqvarna with auto locking differential but got rid of it because the tranny twice fell out on the ground after engine mounts...

I always keep two sets of blades, one on my JD X-370 and a newly sharpened pair on reserve. I have them sharpened at a local dealer/hardware store for $10. I don't know if they balance them or not, but I've had no issues with them. I'm 75 and have owned my fair share of lawn tractors - JD...

I feel ya, bro. Yeah, the JD X-370 has ahydraulic lift and powersteering. Change af 50 hrs. and every 200 after that. I also change oil and filter frequently.👍🏻

I suspect you are largely correct, but after paying 6K for my mower, I'll go along with the schedule - especially oil and filter, tranny oil and filter and greasing. I've been crazy lucky with belts. I've only had a drive belt break once, and I've been on riders since 1993. Thanks for the input. 😁

Thanks! Makes perfect sense for you, but I would not want 28 gal. of gas setting around in my basement. I'll stick to occasional ethanol free and Stabil. If I mowed a big area I would consider it.

First rider I ever owned was a 1993 Craftsman 12 HP. with like 5 speeds and a manual shifter. I used it for so long that the shifter broke off and I got a new one and got a couple more years out of it. Finally, I gave it to my niece. They don't make them like that now! 🙂

Interesting! I've had no issues with the line or filter. Just trying to do filter 3 years what the specs call for yearly.
