This trimmer starts good, idles good, but when I give it gas about 1/2 throttle it acts like the hi speed is out of adjustment. I put a new carburetor RB-K70A on and it still does the same thing. Any one have a suggestion?

may i ask how you cleaned it? can most of the time you need to burn all the carbon out just get a new screen??

It was already very clean. What I found out was that the intake gasket may need replaced. Getting one in the morning to see. Let you know.

This seems to be the problem with most 2 cycle stuff I get used. I usually remove the plug and muffler and all related covers and heat sinks pull the starter untill you can not or barely see the piston get a small flat head screw driver wrap a shop towel around it and scrape the black out. Sometimes I soak the towel in carb cleaner. Finish by using air compressor to blow into plug hole with machine facing down so extra carbon is removed then blow in exhaust and again in plug hole reassemble and I usually remove the spark arrester screen one more thing to fiddle with
 
There is adjustments on your carb ...look below the primer where the fuel lines connect there will be a small black plug ....if it hasnt been removed or ever installed if the plug is in you will need...echo part# 91075 to remove if unavailable use a sharp pick careful not to damage the carb.....good luck ...let me know what happens

Well I replaced the intake gasket. Did not work, Then I remembered what you said about the exhaust port under the muffler. It was so clogged with carbon that you could hardly see the piston. Worked like a charm. Thanks to all. You learn something every day, even at my age.
