Hello,

I have a MTD mower with the model number of 13CD768N670,
The deck is 40", and is a rear shute. The motor is Briggs & Stratton.

My issue is turning the mower from a key start to a push button start. I have been searching the internet for a wiring diagram,
but so far unsuccessful. On occasion I come across a diagram that looks really similar but as soon as I go to my mower
and hook it up the way it says, nothing happens. I have done bench testing of the solenoid, and switches and all seem to
be working fine. I have also tested for continuity on the diode and any wires that need it, all tests come up as working. I have
also checked the wires for any damage or wear and they come up fine, I have also contact cleaned all the plugs on the safety
switches to gain proper contact. The battery has enough charge in it to start it. I also have an image of the wiring diagram that
I have drawn up of how it is is connected.

Can anyone shed some light on my issue??

When some one wants to modify a mowers wiring, my first response is why ?
Now you might have a ligitimate reason for needing the modification or just be too lazy to set the brake.
The cranking circuit cut outs are there to protect the engine & starter.

I am modifying it but also still having all the safety features in place. The key switch is not working hence the reason for needing the push button start.
Please have a good look at my diagram.

I had the DPDT rocker switch and toggle switches laying around and I wanted to make use of them.

Push button start with all the safety switches? That's gonna be a doozy to figure out. When I rewired mine, to do away with all the safety crap, It was an old craftsman. it was like 3 or 4 wires max.
As far as your bad keyswitch goes, it it too late to just get a new key switch? You're local small engine shop will probably have a good used one lying around for $5.

Unable to find the model number listed at MTD's website. Must be a non-US model.

Would need to see the original wiring diagram but it is not all the bad once you how it was wired to start with. But as said it is just simpler to replace the keyswitch; even if the keyswitch is not available with another version of the switch.

Easy peasy
pull you switch out
usually cast into the switch itself will be letters like B M S G A & L
Expose the wires and tap into the S wire then run a seperate power wire from the battery or the power side of the solenoid .
Join then together and the engine should crank.
If not one of the other switches is duff.
