My white lawn tractor won't stay running. Had some repairs done last year and it wasn't "quite right" even though it ran. It has new battery, plug and starts up. Will run for a few minutes and then die out. My lawn looks like a field and I really need my tractor with my bad back.

I'd say get it running, and as soon as it dies on you, check for spark. May be a bad ignition coil. If you still have spark, then it's definitely a fuel problem. Anything from dirt in the tank to dirt in the carb. You can pick up a spark plug tester from Harbor Freight for around $5. Leave the spark plug in the engine, plug the tester between the plug and plug wire, then crank the engine. If you see it light up, the the coil is good. Time to move to the carb or tank...

Changed the plug and it starts. It's not getting gas. Took of fuel filter and gas line seems to be plugged.

Sounds like it's time to remove the tank and flush it out good with hot water and Dawn. Keep doing it until the water starts running free and clear from the tank. Then let it air dry for a while and you should be good to go. Also grab yourself a new fuel filter if you haven't already done that. Wouldn't hurt to get a new section of fuel line after all this cleaning either. Also check that the vents in the gas cap aren't plugged...
