DISCLAIMER:

LMF members under legal drinking age are strongly encouraged not to post in this thread.

As for me, I prefer either white zinfandel or Moscato wine. The zinfandel is a step up, just barely, from the Ripple and Boones Farm I consumed when younger.

Busch light. I drink that 90% of the time.

For whine, I like something red and dry - I'm not too snobbish on the breeds. Ususally the House Red from a local winery - Johnson Estate. Quite economical! I gave like $15 for 3.0L, and that lasted me a month. Not big on whites. (unless it's Boones)

My dad just made some cider, and gave me 3.0L of that - it's the color of gasoline, with the flavor to match. But, as a professional drunk with over 10 years experience, I never throw away booze. I'll drink it when I get dry enough...

I don't get into liquor much, so I really can't comment on those choices.

A wino like me buys the cheapest possible, local stores sell a boxed Franzia or Vela for $12 for 5 liters.
Local steakhouse will sell you a 5 oz glass of the stuff for $3.50 and tax. Guess where my choice is.

Although people make fun of the boxed wine, I think some of them taste really good. The Johnson Estate is about as cheap as wine gets in these parts. Their winery is close to the one in Westfield, NY that makes Mad Dog 20/20 (which is TRULY wino wine........).

The stuff in a steakhouse, I swear comes from that same $12 box... Because "REAL" wine is sour and bitter and nasty. The steakhouse stuff is tasty. Like that Chardonnay crap - tastes like it was aged with rotten driftwood (IMHO), but people rush to give $30 a Liter for it. YUCK!

None !

Dr. tried to get me to drink a glass of wine a day. Neighbor gave me a bottle of "good" red. Took one taste and let the wife taste.

I'd rather drink cider vinegar ! and it is cheap !

Makes sense to me, as they say all wine basically turns to vinegar as it ages....

Reminds me of the old joke where somebody paid a firm $1000 to search their family history, and $10,000 more to shut them up about what they dug up in the search....my grandpa on my mom's side was a professional drinker himself, my dad almost never touched the stuff, so It appears the gene skipped a generation before getting to me...I'll drink to that !!!:drink::laughing:
