This is on a Briggs engine 128T02-0112-B1 10110956 Nov 2010

Briggs part 796704. What is that piece in the middle? The item in blue, not the 4 washers.

I found it below the intake manifold tube IN the block behind the valve face. It was next to the valve oil seal.

It use to make square hole round for smooth air flow. They could not mold the plastic with it in place so they made it a separate piece. I never heard of one coming out place on its own. Probably was installed wrong in the first place. It is install so your can smoothly round the corner.

The PN you listed is the gasket and not the assy. Correct PN is 796703 according the IPL.

So this humped piece goes inside the manifold for air flow? Is it part of the manifold when new?

Have any pics of this? All the ebay parts of 796703 don't show this piece. Let me look some more.

I see it now. Assuming it's supposed to be part of the manifold right and not supposed to fall off inside the block which makes sense?

I found this manifold loose. Both screws were visibly loose. Guy said he couldn't get the engine to run, duh.

So to be clear, this part is part of the manifold right? This one just failed.

This amazon which is not the same part number but looks correct has this peice. Do you install it inside the manifold then screw it down? This is Briggs 794305.

Description says includes INSERT to make hold, round and spacers for coil.

that's how i do it, put it in the manifold, and then screw it down with a new gasket.

Installed wrong? 2 screws and a gasket?

Does the air flow part need plastic welded TO the manifold? Gasket should hold it in the manifold.
