I just picked up this mower and have been unable to identify the year of production...the model number is 8FH10LB as shown on the ID tag photo. I checked the Lawn Boy ID guide but this model is not listed. Similar mowers are listed as 1952 or 1953,but they have the RPM ID tag on the back left of the deck.My mower has the ID tag in the front center of the deck. I also need a rope starter cup as mine is chipped as you can see. Thanks in advance for any help on the year of manufacture any any leads on a replacement cup.

Thanks so very much. The old thread worked and said my mower is a 1952 model year. I really appreciate your help.
Now to find a replacement cup. If I cannot find one I will make a cosmetic repair. The mower has decent compression...I installed a coil, points and condenser today. With any luck it will be humming again soon. I love reviving these old classics.

The first thing I would do is to hit every repair shop within 50 miles of where you live. They may have one in their treasure box. The longer they’ve been around the better your chances. I would also try any boat motor repair shops. Why? RPM units were originally built by the man who also was involved with OMC outboards and was purchased by OMC. If my memory is any good, I believe they may have used the same style starter cup on the early outboards.

Thanks again....the outboard motor tip is a good one. You are correct....they used that same cup on small outboards. Often these old outboards go for near nothing on auctions around here. I will be looking for one.

Thanks again.....
