I picked up a 61" Ferris Z with a Kawasaki liquid cooled engine. There is no ID tag on the engine. Wondered if it's the only liquid cooled engine that Kawasaki made? I need to get some parts for it and need to ID it to order parts. I have the serial and model #s on the mower. 2000701028 and 5900611. Can anyone help? thank you, gregjo1948

It will be the FD731V_S00 spec for Ferris. Doesn’t matter whether it is AS00, BS00, etc.
It is not the only liquid cooled engine ever made. It is the latest of the vertical shaft models built. Now discontinued.
Kawasaki still has three liquid cooled, horizontal shaft models in production.

I'm installing a head gasket and wonder if you know the torque specs?

Highly recommend using three step torquing method to prevent warping. 8 > 16 > 24 ft/lbs.

Decided to replace the engine. What would be an easy replacement Kawasaki replacement? Rather go with air cooled. Shaft size 1 1/8" x 3 7/8" keyed.
