Ok, have this 21HP vanguard motor. 381447 0306. It was supposedly a low hour pull out from a cub cadet. I used it to repower a bobcat. Having some running issues. When i got it, can was completely corroded up. Tore it down and cleaned everything i could. Cleaned jets with a piece of wire. Blue ports out. I can get the motor to start and run with no load. Sometimes it will just die like it runs out of fuel sometimes it chugs and blows black smoke. When i use it under load after a short while it sputters and dies and won’t restart. It’s flooding out. Plugs are wet. Carb sometimes has Fuel sitting by the choke plate. I have set the idle jet screws. They are about 1 1/4 turn out. The plastic float has no adjustment. The needle and seat seem to be working. Is there an on ring inside the carb that might have deteriorated and allowing fuel past? Any other suggestions on what to check?

remove the kill wires from the coils & let us know what happens
Where exactly are they located? I have spark when it won’t start. But i also have fuel sitting in the carb.
