I have to replace my v belt. I know the part number but have no idea the dimensions and for some reason I cannot find it on the net. If I know the dimensions then I can get a compatible replacement without traveling to Sears.

Dimension belts are not always what they say. OEM belt cross overs may say 1/2-53 but the OEM belt may be slightly wider or narrower with a different cut angle, and the length may not be exact length either. Can cause problems in some cases. Had a john deere that I tried to put a dimensional belt on a few years ago and would only last about 15 minutes before it would get destroyed. Problem was the cross over belt was cut at an angle of 21 degrees but the JD belt was a 15 degree.

Ok, then I will just purchase the regular Craftsman v belt and not take a chance. Thanks.

The experiences that I have had Craftsman v-belts are pretty standard. My Grandpa had an old Craftsman that he got a belt from some place online and is lasted longer then the OEM part. Same for my Simplicity.

What is the belt part number?

I use the cheaper belts on craftsman they work just fine.

John Deere uses their own pitch so you have to buy their belts or you can go with a PIX belt.

MTD you can use a cheap belt on the deck but have to use MTD belts on the drive or can get a gates belt.

The only snapper belt that you have to get from snapper is the double v belt.

There are a few places you can get any belt you need but they cost more then the oem belts

(( cowboy up and get over it ))

I have an newer JD that I use the PIX blue Kevlar and it works better than the original belt. I buy my kevlar belts from VBeltSupply.com. Never had a problem.

I use Kevlar belts the OEM ones don't last as long as the Kevlar ones do yes they cost a little more but I much rather change it once and be done with it for a while

In my Oregon Aftermarket belt, the AYP #166060 is a 3/8" x 38-1/4" trans belt for a 21" rear bagger mower.
