Used Bad Boy 48 inch cut 27hp with no hour meter

When did they start putting hour meters on the mowers? I briefly looked at a used bad boy today but did not see hour meter on it. Sorry don’t know the model. Trying to figure out year of mower. Looked to be in good condition and not old as dirt.
