Repairs UNEXSPECTED SHUT OFF

i have a scag STG-18KH - 1993 modkhi have a scag stg-18kh with 18hp kohler engine. it starts good but after i start cutting grass for about 15-20 munites it gets hot and cuts off. i changed spark plugs and fuel filter and i have no idea what it could be. i attached the user and parts manual with this post. thanks for any help.

Replace your air filter.

Remove the shroud and clean out the mouse nest.
