I think I may have a dual issue, but I am not positive. The mower is a Husqvarna 2018 TS 354D with a Kohler KT 740 engine. 250 hours on the machine.
Problem 1. The muffler recently failed by separating in half, and the heat shield area became so hot it melted the plastic front grill along the bottom. I replaced the muffler, reinstalled the heat shields, replaced the plastic grill insert, and it once again became so hot it melted the plastic grill insert. I can't figure out why.
Problem 2. Mower starts and runs great for about 30 minutes and then starts missing and stalling. I replaced the fuel filter, gas, air filter, and checked the spark plugs. I also replaced both ignition modules about 6 months ago. Strangely enough, it exhibits this behavior more when turning sharply right or left and will run a little longer if I feather the choke out. This works for a few minutes then it quits completely. After it sits overnight, it starts right up and runs well for 30 more minutes. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
