I read the gas tank can be cleaned by using 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol.Can I do the same where I fill the oil?
I was thinking of removing the drain plug & letting it sit for a hour or 2.
Putting the plug back in then pour the alcohol in the oil fill.Once its filled up,shake the mower around for a few mins.
Let it set for a hour or 2.
Drain half of it,pour more in to fill back up.Shake mower again for a few.Let it sit for a half hr-hour then drain halfway again.
Then just keep repeating the last step till it runs clear.
The old oil in it is jet black from last year:ashamed:.I want to try & get all that crap out as much as I can.I got some SAE 10W-30 for it.The mower is close to 10yrs old I believe & has had alot of runtime.It runs ok.On the engine it shows:
125K02 0243 E1 040309 FB ,Its a 6.75HP engine.
