I hit a rock with my Toro Recycler 22” and it immediately started clanking so I turned it off. The blade doesn’t appear to be broken however when it’s manually rotated , one of the ends hits a spot on the frame. How do I isolate the problem and provide a solution?

Remove the spark plug, tie back the blade brake handle, tip the mower on it’s side carb up. You should now be able to turn the blade very easily and be able to locate the problem. Watch the center to see if it is wobbling or turning concentric. If it’s turning concentric you got lucky and didn’t bend the crankshaft. If it wobbles, bent crankshaft and with this mower, depends on age, probably best to replace the mower. I’m betting you bent the blade for sure and if the crankshaft is not bent, might be able to get lucky to just replace the blade.
