While at Home Depot today, I noticed a box of Toro replacement lawnmower wheels with metal gear for like 16.00 bucks. I wonder if they would fit on my Lawnboy 10323? The lawnmower dealer quoted me a price of like 80.00 for them (ouch)!! The ones I have are useable, but the plastic around the gear lugs are cracked and the gear is a tad loose. Even tried super glue.

Toro and Lawn-Boy do share a lot of items. I know the gears look to be the same, and they are mounted to the wheels in a similar fashion; however, I believe that you will find the offset of the hub to be different. If you try to mount the Toro wheel to a Lawn-Boy deck, I believe that you will find that the pinion gear on transmission doesn't correctly mate with the drive gear on the wheel. I know the new OEM ones can be expensive. You should be able to find a nice used set for around $25 shipped to your door. I may even have another set in my garage. If you are interested, send me an email.

Yeah,,,you're correct. Not only is the offset wrong, the teeth look bigger on the Toro. I took one of my rear wheels into Home Depot to do a comparison. The gears are roughly the same diameter though. Think when the time comes, I'll just bite the bullet and buy new.
