Saw this on CL and couldn't resist. Doesn't run and will need some work. It has good compression and looks to be in great overall condition. Just look at how good the paint, shroud and the decals are. It may need a coil and the usual other things like seals and air cleaner and the like. This thing should clean up nice and run good. I'll probably wait until spring to really dig into it. My sickness for old Lawn Boys is looking to be incurable.

Nice Score! Turns out, it's little brother followed me home today too! A 19 inch pusher, 5269F. Unfortunately it's gonna be awhile before I get to "tinker" with it. Already made my mind up that the 5006 is next.

You grabbed a nice mower. I like the style of these. Congrats!!

I've got that bug too but I can't find D-series mowers down here in GA anymore -- I literally haven't seen one for sale in over a year.

Hey, that's a nice one. I never see any 19 inch models in that style. For some reason, I like the white backround on the decal. It kind of sets it apart.

The only downside is that it has a golf ball size hole in the side of the deck just in front of the right rear wheel. I have seen a few of these 19" cast decks with the same kind of hole. Must be something about the debris path created by the shape of the deck and the blade speed. Other than that, its beautiful. D-series, 2 speed governor, it will be a fun one to work on.

My deck also has a small imperfection too. There is a small poke sticking out just in front of the left rear wheel, but you have to look close to see it. As thick as those decks are, you would think they were bullet proof.

I don't know what you are talking about! So there I was minding my own business, working in my garage on a Saturday. Guy shows up to pick up his snowblower, pays his bill, and says I got a mower for you in my truck. "I saw the Lawn-Boy's here last time, so I figured I'd bring it here and see if you want it before I tossed it" I said, "well it's pretty old and needs some work, but I won't be offended if you want to leave here" LOL I didn't even chase that one, just showed up at my house. LOL Once and a while karma does me a solid. It helps justify the ones I drive more than a few hours for!!!

I keep waiting for one of those auto-mowers like you got. That's a lil' sweetheart!!!!
